Small Group HOST Role Description

Title

Small Group Host (Connection Small Group)

Description

The Small Group Host will host their small group’s meeting in their home (or other location). Each group’s meeting frequency will vary but a typical meeting schedule is weekly for a two hour meeting. The job of the host is to foster a meeting environment that will help the small group members connect relationally to each other and God as they study the Bible and grow together in their walks with Christ. A host can host all small group meetings or commit to hosting only some of the small group meetings. An agreement is made between the Small Group Host and the Small Group Leader on how frequently this will occur (e.g. every week, every other week, one month on then one month off, etc…).

Do These Things in this Role

· Foster a comfortable environment where group members feel welcomed and relaxed

· Provide seating arrangements for expected group attendees (floor space is fine as long as confirmed with the Leader beforehand)

· Work with the Small Group Childcare Coordinator to provide a space for children if the group provides childcare (Childcare Coordinator will handle all the details for this including age appropriate toys for the children)

· Work with the Small Group Refreshment Coordinator to provide a space for refreshments to be set out (Refreshment Coordinator handles all the details)

Agree To These Requirements

· Be willing to serve one year hosting the small group meetings at the number and frequency agreed to with the Leader

Time Commitment

· 2 hours/meeting – Host small group (typically 1.5 yours meeting time + .5 hours fellowship/refreshment time)
